We had a fantastic time. Nicaragua is known as the land of volcanoes and lakes but that doesn't prepare you for how spectacular the scenery is.

We found our local guide, Rodolfo Ortega using reccomendations from Trip Advisor. He was given glowing references by all of his previous customers and when we mailed him a rough itinerary he seemed to genuinely be enthusiastic about his country.

He was the first guide who actually thought about the tour and didn't want us to start sightseeing after travelling for 23 hours on our first day. He took time to find out a little about us and suggested hotels and an itinerary based on what he learned.

Not only did Rodolfo put together a fantastic tour but he also engaged a great driver, Francisco who went above and beyond the call of duty, made us laugh, taught us important Spanish lessons and had an astoundingly good singing voice. Together they made our trip unforgettable.
