New Orleans - December 2019

Our first trip to the USA together. We organised everything ourselves including excursions. We did a lot of research and decided to stay in the Hotel Dauphine in the French Quarter, one street away from the infamous Burbon Street. The location was perfect and the hotel had everything we needed including two double beds.

We did all the usual tourist things including cemetary tour, paddle steamer trip, swamp exploration, ghosts and voodoo tour etc. We ate some amazing food (especially the seafood), we went to a comedy show, numerous museums and galleries, scared some locals when we stopped at a "gay bar" for a few drinks, rode the streetcars and buses and of course walked for miles every day. All in all we had a fantastic time amd wouldn't hesitate in recommending New Orleans as a destination.
