Back in June 2013 a group of people from Withernsea wanted to stage a Maritime Event. It wasn’t long before they realised that they all had a love for Pirates and everything associated with them. It was then decided that a pirate event it was going to be. Within days of the initial idea it had grown into a full scale Festival. That festival in 2013 was a huge success and become an annual event and a major part of the towns calendar.
Sadly in 2019 the Pirate crew were consigned to Davy Jones’ locker. However a 10 year reunion was staged in 2023 and it was decided that the Withernsea Pirate festival should once again sail the seven seas in 2024.
